At this stage in their academic journey, students are well equipped with the skills and knowledge mastered in elementary school as they face challenging new concepts and ideas.

Middle school at the International School of Los Angeles welcomes students from our elementary campuses and beyond to our secondary campus in Burbank.

Students enter a warm and familial environment, a community where equity, inclusion, and belonging are valued. They choose either to continue their bilingual journey or to enter the English-language middle school program.

Students who enter the English-language middle school international program inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical, and reflective thinkers. LILA is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme.
