Our French immersion program goes beyond language learning—it’s about truly living the language. Students don’t just study French; they learn in French, starting as early as preschool with the option to continue through 12th grade. 

Bilingualism is more than an academic skill—it’s a cognitive advantage. Research shows that bilingual learners develop greater adaptability, creativity, and critical thinking. Switching between languages strengthens the brain, fostering problem-solving skills and open-mindedness. Conscious Technology: Fostering Focus, Innovation, and Connection

At LILA, we believe technology should empower students, not distract them. As we enter the era of Artificial Intelligence, our proactive technology policy intentionally balances cutting-edge innovation with student wellbeing.

By keeping school hours entirely phone-free from preschool through 12th grade, we preserve an environment of deep academic focus and vibrant, face-to-face social connection where students engage meaningfully without digital noise. We also balance digital literacy with vital tactile learning through our scaffolded Chromebook program. In grades 6 and 7, devices remain at school to prioritize traditional reading, writing, and fine motor skills for homework, while grades 8 and 9 transition to at-home device use secured by an automatic digital curfew to safeguard healthy sleep.

Rather than hiding from the future, we actively lead it by introducing middle school students to a controlled, education-specific AI tutor program. Aligned with UNESCO guidelines, this innovative program remains entirely opt-out to ensure parents retain complete choice. Furthermore, we partner with families to raise responsible digital citizens through a collaborative five-part series for High School families that unpacks social media algorithms and digital literacy. Backed by comprehensive teacher training and elevated pedagogical standards, LILA’s balanced approach ensures each student becomes a healthy, focused, and future-ready leader.
