Parent Ambassadors

Our family has been part of LILA since 2018, when our first child, Ava, started preschool. Our second child Mila is also now at LILA. We discovered LILA through family and friends while looking for a diverse environment with a strong curriculum. Both my wife and I grew up in Los Angeles and wanted a school that reflected that same diversity, with smaller class sizes. As a non-Francophone family, we speak Assyrian, Farsi, and English at home. LILA and its community have been an invaluable part of our children’s upbringing, and we’re thrilled with our decision to bring them here.

We are a family with two daughters, Aurora and Elliott, two dogs, plenty of dirty laundry, and an endless supply of head colds—but we’re loving every second of it. Well… most seconds!

We are raising our daughters in Tarzana, with our first-born, Athena, attending the West Valley campus. The school is wonderful, with a supportive community of parents and teachers who both challenge and encourage the children to grow into thoughtful, engaged global citizens.

We are Shane and Nan, and our son is currently in elementary school. Our family has been part of the LILA community since preschool. I grew up in Canada and spent a few years living in Japan before coming to the U.S., and while I don’t speak French, I do speak Japanese. Nan grew up in China, Quebec, and California. We, along with our son, have truly enjoyed our time at LILA and all the wonderful people we’ve met along the way.

I am a special educator and school psychologist who absolutely loves working with children! In my spare time, I enjoy singing Basque songs and collaborating with various musicians. Our son, Xanti, attended LILA from preschool through 12th grade and now goes to Santa Clara University.

We are a French family from Paris.

A British and American family with a little girl at the ELC in Los Feliz.

Hello! We’re Kalli, Al, Quincy, and Silvester—the Shuckburgh/Clark Sternberg family. We’re a British family living in Silver Lake, and both Silvester and Quincy attend the Los Feliz campus. We love LILA for its international community and shared values in education and life. Although we don’t speak French at home, we’ve been amazed by Quincy’s progress over the past two years. We both work in the music industry and fully enjoy the California lifestyle—surfing and spending time at the beach.

My husband, Amir, and I were born and raised in the Valley and have roots in Iran and Jordan. Our family has been part of the LILA community since 2023, and we have three children. We are both working professionals and come from large families rich in culture and tradition. We enjoy family and social gatherings, working out, and traveling. At home, we speak Arabic, Farsi, and Spanish.

LILA is special and unique because of its curriculum, dedicated teachers, and dual-language immersion program. In partnership with our approach to parenting, we believe LILA supports a strong foundation for our children, fosters critical thinking and resilience, and prepares them to meet the challenges of our diverse world.

We’re a non-French speaking family; dad hails from Cleveland, mom made it across the pond from Flemish-speaking Belgium. We chose LILA because of its French curriculum, academic roots, and global perspective. But LILA has turned out to be more than our kids’ school, the parent community has been very welcoming and fun.

We are two Englishers, with two little Americans, Lazlo and Tiago. We are both in the creative industries.

I am the proud mama bear of my little cub who currently attends the West Valley campus. We have been members of the LILA community since preschool (2020) and despite starting during a pandemic, we have found a home within LILA and are proud of who our little guy has become. Happy to answer any questions. Please feel free to reach out to me.

We are a family with roots in Spain and US. Sofía, our beautiful (inside and out) daughter, keeps David, dad, and Marisé, mom, young and playful. We love walking our three dogs in the park, traveling around the world, and spending time with friends and family. As a family, we are adventurous, open, curious, reliable, and team players. We have been at LILA since PreK (11years!! and counting) and feel honored to belong to an amazing international and multicultural community.

We have two children at LILA, both currently enrolled at the ELC in Los Feliz. Henry began his journey at LILA in 2024, and Josephine started in 2025. My wife is an interior designer, and I am a doctor. We were both born and raised in the United States and don’t speak French—but we do share a love for French culture.

More importantly, we share a strong desire for our children to receive an education that promotes a global perspective and understanding through learning a foreign language. Los Angeles is a wonderful place, and we love living here, but it’s not the center of the universe. We want our children to know that the world is big and diverse, and that learning to communicate and connect with people from different backgrounds and languages truly matters.

We felt that LILA’s commitment to a French and international education would give our children the tools they need to navigate the world and, hopefully, do great things along the way. And we absolutely love when the kids come home singing French songs—especially when we have no idea what they’re saying!

We are an anglophone family with two boys, Jack and Henry. We are in the entertainment industry.

Our son Jonathan started at LILA in Kindergarten without any previous French experience and we knew from the beginning that LILA was an amazing and welcoming environment. My husband Peter is a Seattle native, I’m a Chicago native, and we found a fantastic community and education for our LA-raised son at LILA.

We’re a couple of English-speaking Americans working in the entertainment industry, raising our two spirited children in Studio City. Coming from Connecticut and Ohio, and with no prior experience in international education, we were curious how the French immersion would go—it’s been amazing to see how our children have embraced it. They absolutely love their school, and we love being part of LILA’s warm and vibrant community. We’d be happy to chat about adjusting to a new school, supporting our children’s diverse learning styles and social-emotional needs, or commuting from the Valley to Los Feliz (honestly, it’s not that bad—we even have plenty of podcast recommendations if you’re interested!).

Our daughter Colette started at LILA in 2023. We sometimes speak Spanish at home.

We are a bilingual family. I am from France and speak French with our daughter, while my husband is from Los Angeles and speaks to her in English. We both work in medicine and were keen for her to attend a French school. After extensive research, we chose LILA because its values closely align with ours. So far, we have had a wonderful experience and truly love the community. We’ve met families from all over the world and are very much looking forward to the experiences ahead.

We’re a family with international background, speaking multiple languages at home, that somehow made our older daughter speak with Swedish accent, and our little daughter speak with Boston accent, a very interesting combo. We love LILA for strong values that supports diversity, variety of cultures, and incredibly high academic standards. This place truly feels like home with extremely friendly and supportive international LILA community.

Hello we are Lindsay, Andrew, Enzo and Elio. We are very happy that we ended up at LILA! Neither of us speak French, but Andrew speaks Italian. We are in agriculture (a vegetable farm in Los Angeles). We love the community at LILA, they have really become some of our best friends.

I live in Sherman Oaks, California with my husband Sandro, and our three kids: Sofia, Charlie and Luc. Our kids have all been at LILA since pre-K, and it has been a wonderful experience. Please reach out to me for any information about our incredible school!

Cuban-Peruvian-American family of 5, including our two human children and Peter, our beloved pup. We feel so grateful to be part of this great community.

Our eldest daughter began at LILA during the 2021–22 school year at the West Valley Campus, and our youngest daughter joined the preschool program in 2026. As a Canadian–French family, becoming part of an international community was a key factor in our choice of school. LILA strongly reflects our values, and we see those values brought to life every day through the school’s thoughtful approach to education and care.

We are a multi-cultural (half French speaking) family who wanted an inclusive global community. We feel we hit the jackpot at LILA. We have been with the school since our eldest was in PS at the ELC. Our LILA community has been the highlight and kept us afloat during the last couple years!

We are a Franco-American family (Chris is American and Jeanne is French). We love LILA and particularly our Pasadena campus. There is an outstanding crowd of people there, always ready to help. We love you LILA Pasadena community.

Hello! My name is Melissa and my husband Eric and I have had the absolute pleasure of sending our daughter and son to school here since preschool. We are a non-French speaking family but our daughter is already fluent and thriving in the warm, welcoming and international community of the school. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Thank you!

Our family has been part of the LILA community since 2021, beginning in Pre-K. As a multicultural family, a bilingual education and an international community were especially important to us. At a foundational level, we know that LILA families share the same hope of raising children who grow into true global citizens.

We have been at LILA since PreK and feel honored to belong to an amazing international and multicultural community.

We are LA Natives with twin boys.

We are a ski-loving family spread across North America. Although we speak English at home, we love how adding French has broadened our son’s worldview and expanded his ability to express himself.

Will and I have been sending our daughters Zoë and Natalie to LILA since preK. We love to be part of our beautiful international community that reflects so well on who we are as a family.

Laura is a business attorney and Adam is a producer. Our girls have been at LILA since kinder (Ella) and preschool (Mia). We live in Los Feliz with our dog, Georgia.

We are a multilingual family of three (Luz, Michael and Mila), juggling (with some joy and much effort) English, French, Spanish and Italian. We are tremendously excited to be part of the LILA community. Mila joined Mini Club at the ELC when she was 6 months old, and since then we have seen her love for the school and the French language grow. We’re here to support you and answer any questions you may have as you get ready to join this amazing learning environment!

We’re a French family, and our son began preschool at LILA in September 2025. We speak French at home and wanted a nurturing, academically strong environment where he could grow up truly bilingual. So far, we couldn’t be happier—he’s thriving, excited to go to school every day, and we already feel warmly welcomed by the community.

My name is Jeff Vespa and my wife is Emily. We have two daughters, Genevieve and Josephine. Neither my wife or I speak French or another language. I am very active with the school volunteering and being an ambassador. We love the LILA community.
